Castro Commons is a proposed mixed-use development at Castro Street and El Camino Real aimed at revitalizing Gateway Park with community-focused housing and commercial spaces. The design emphasizes pedestrian experience through “paseos,” including a main walkable corridor along Fairmont Avenue that connects residential areas to downtown Castro Street.

The project features human-scale architectural elements, outdoor amenities, and active commercial edges to enhance street life. Building massing is stepped down to respect nearby neighborhoods, and parking is placed underground to improve safety and walkability.

Situated on 1.43 acres, the development includes 140 residential units (118 market-rate and 22 below-market-rate) in a modern-designed building, contributing to increased housing supply in downtown Mountain View.
